The young girl鈥檚 face lit up every time she caught the small bean bag, a wide smile forming after each toss. It was a seemingly small task for most kids, but for Sophia and the other participants at Camp Nugget, catching, running and swimming are immeasurable accomplishments.
They came to hear how their lives could be better, how they might overcome isolation and improve their balance. They wanted to learn how to eat better and make healthier choices.聽Mostly, the dozens of senior Long Beach residents, who sat in the American Gold Star Manor recreation center, wanted to know how they will fit into today鈥檚 aging society.
