Justin Rinearson attended 91��ɫ twice, earning a bachelor’s in 2015 before returning to campus from 2021 to 2023 for his Master of Science in Information Systems (MSIS) degree. He doesn’t need to prove his school spirit, but Justin does have a special place in his heart for his double alma mater.

MSIS Fall Meet-up 2023 Our MS in Information Systems program hosted its semesterly Meet-up on Saturday, October 28. The event brought together a dynamic group, including industry speakers, CoB faculty and Staff, MSIS students and esteemed MSIS alumni.

Banafsheh Behzad is the winner of the 2023 INFORMS (Institute for Operations Research and Management Sciences) Fora Moving Spirit Award in appreciation of my service to the Women in Operations Research & Management Science - INFORMS Forum.

Our MS in Information Systems (MSIS) program hosted our semesterly meet-up (Tech Giants Speaker Panel) on March 18, 2023 for current MSIS students, faculty staff,, and alumni. The panel included Manu Mehra of Google, Vertika Srivastava of Meta, and Christian Bourdeau of Netflix.

“I chose Cal State Long Beach because of the diversity,” she explained. “I noticed that just by being on campus, interviewing students, and speaking to any professor that would talk to me. I also felt that the courses were relevant to the things that I wanted to do, and I loved the affordability because I funded my education on my own. 

A group of MS Information Systems students won the best presentation award at the Data Science Hackathon 2022. The group named their team Datafriends (DF).
