In 2024, 13 students from METRIC and 4 students from METRIC 2 have graduated or will be graduating by the end of Fall. In total, METRIC helped developed 2 chemists, 7 earth scientists, 5 mathematicians/statisticians, and 3 physicists.

The mixer took place on May 18 in Rush Park near campus in the form of a potluck. This was a social event to reconnect students with each other, send off the graduates, and welcome the upcoming summer break.

Several of our students have been accepted into summer programs or taken jobs that will start in Fall. Here are a few highlights.

The celebration took place on March 12 at the Games Center in the University Student Union at 91ÌÒÉ«. More than 20 people attended the billiard party was in celebration of our METRIC Grit Award winners.

The 2023 Family and Friends Holiday Mixer took place on December 8 at the Anatol Center on campus. More than 50 people attended the event including 12 current METRIC scholars, 8 faculty, 9 alumni, and 25 family and friends of program.

METRIC students personnel attended the welcome orientation at The Growing Experience Urban Farm in Long Beach. Students and faculty got to connect deeper through a series of outdoor and farming activities.

The 2023 Spring Mixer took place on May 4 at the Game Center inside the University Student Union at 91ÌÒÉ«. In total, 22 people were in attendance including 11 current METRIC students, six friends of the scholars, and five program personnel.

The 2022 Family and Friends Mixer took place on December 9 at the Anatol Center on campus. More than 30 family and friends of the METRIC students joined for a night of celebration and fun.

Twelve METRIC students and five program personnel attended the welcome orientation on September 5, 2022, in Camp Fire Long Beach. The students and faculty connected deeper through a series of low-rope team-building activities (group juggling, rocking dock, and dodge ball).

In 2022, six of the students from our first cohort (2019) graduated. The CNSM graduation ceremony took place in Angel's Stadium on Tuesday, May 17. We also said goodbye to Dr. Chuhee Kwon (Physics mentor) who retired at the end of Fall 2021.

The 2022 Spring Mixer took place on April 9 in Rush Park near campus in the form of a potluck. This was a much-needed social event to reconnect students with each other and the weather was just perfect for that.

Several of our students have been accepted into programs or have won awards and grants during the spring: Annika Gonzales, Demetria Eves, Jessica Rogado, Cyna Nguyen, and Miontranese Green.
