The 2025 Family and Friends Holiday Mixer was held on December 5 on campus. The event included mingling, table doodling, a buffet dinner, holiday-themed games, and sharing from the program director and current scholars.

METRIC scholars volunteered at the Girl Scout's STEM-Tacular Badge Bash on November 9, 2025, where dozens of girl scouts were introduced to exciting possibilities in STEM fields, from computer science and creative technology to geology, chemistry, and engineering, through engaging, age-appropriate workshops.

The inaugural workshop took place on October 27, 2025, and offered students and faculty a welcome opportunity to relax and recharge during midterm season. Participants were encouraged to experiment with primary colors and create personalized color wheels.

Fifteen METRIC students attended the welcome orientation at the Student Recreation and Wellness Center and the Hall of Science at California State University, Long Beach. The day started with a presentation of highlights and recognitions of student and faculty achievements. Scholars and faculty interacted with each other through a ice breaker.

Since Fall 2024, 16 students from METRIC and METRIC 2 have graduated or will be graduating by the end of Fall 2025. In total, METRIC helped developed 2 chemists, 4 earth scientists, 4 mathematicians/statisticians, 2 physicists, and 4 computer scientists/engineers.

Congratulations to several METRIC scholars who have been accepted into summer programs, graduate schools, or academic year research programs.

The mixer took place April 26 at Dr. Chang's house. This was a social event to reconnect students with each other and faculty. In total, 24 people were in attendance.

On March 21, 2025, METRIC scholars toured Google's Irvine branch. Of the three local Google hosts, two graduated as Computer Science and Computer Engineering majors from 91ÌÒÉ«. The tour included visits to iconic rooms, delicious food, and two inspiring presentations from current Google employees.

The 2024 Family and Friends Holiday Mixer took place on December 6 at the Anatol Center on campus. More than 45 people attended the event, which included dinner, recognition, and holiday games.

Twenty-three METRIC students and seven program personnel attended the welcome orientation on September 7 on the 91ÌÒÉ« campus. Activities included an ice breaker, yoga, lunch, and painting!
